Fawcett Mill Fields is set in 5 acres of gardens in the secluded Eden Valley, midway between the Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales, making it a great base for exploring this beautiful area. The mill dates back to the 16th century and has been patiently restored over many years to retain original features in stone and oak but with all modern conveniences. It is an ideal house for family and friendship groups to come together for that special holiday or celebration. Although only 2 miles from the M6 it has a sense of timeless beauty and tranquillity. We offer first class self catering facilities for groups of up to 25 people in generous accommodation and extensive grounds. The house is furnished and maintained to the highest standards. The bonus of the house are the three sitting rooms and a dining room large enough to sit 25 all together. The accommodation is on three levels with the front of the building facing Raisgill Beck and waterfall, this is safely gated from the courtyard garden but is normally just a stream that many guests venture into for a dip. A balcony runs the full length of the building and gets the early morning sun, a fun place to breakfast and watch the bird life. There are three sitting rooms, the largest was the original barn with A framed oak beams with a spinning gallery off it. There is another large sitting room on the ground level, this has TV, Video, DVD & CD, with a smaller sitting room off the dining room with TV and DVD. The dining room has an open plan kitchen off it with all the equipment you would expect to find in a family home. There is a gas fired BBQ on the balcony off the dining room. There is ample outdoor garden furniture in the courtyard garden for impromptu “ alfresco meals “ , weather permitting. The grounds cover 5 acres, with a mixture of formal gardens, large lawn, woodland and of course the stream that runs through the whole property. We have a fine herbaceous border, rock garden, bog garden and a pond garden. There are safe spaces for children to play. |
